Meet the Founders: The Story of Cheeky Kids

Cheeky Kids was born out of a shared dream to break free from the daily grind and live a life full of creativity, adventure, and connection. For Fox and Miri, the founders of Cheeky Kids, it was about combining their unique experiences and passion for the outdoors to build something meaningful and fulfilling.

A Creative Partnership

Fox, a skilled carpenter, has been honing his craft since finishing high school in 2014. Miri, a clinical dietitian, completed her degree in 2019 after years of study. Their paths crossed at a house party in 2015, and since then, they’ve formed an unbreakable bond that fuels both their personal and professional lives.

Frustrated with the limitations of 9-to-5 jobs, they launched Cheeky Kids to create a community of like-minded adventurers and explore a life of freedom and creativity.

The Vision Behind Cheeky Kids

The name “Cheeky Kids” came to life during a road trip to Crescent Head, inspired by the song “Cheekykids” by Marlin’s Dreaming. It perfectly captured their ethos of adventure, fun, and embracing life’s playful side.

Cheeky Kids stands out in the 4WD and camping industry with retro-inspired designs and high-quality, practical products like colorful enamel camping mugs and spare wheel bags with velcro patches. At its core, Cheeky Kids is about celebrating life, building community, and creating reliable, fun products.

Quality and Innovation

Their flagship product, the Tyre Cover & Goodie Bag, took over 1.5 years of designing and refining to meet the highest standards. This commitment to quality is evident in all their products, including spanner rolls, tool rolls, and canvas gear bags, ensuring adventurers have reliable gear for their journeys.

A Personal Touch

Fox and Miri’s love for adventure shines through in their work. Their favorite camping spot? The iconic Victorian High Country, where 4x4 adventures create unforgettable memories. Even challenges, like a trip to the world’s largest sand island without functioning hubs, highlight their resilience and the supportive 4WD community.

Balancing business and adventure isn’t easy, but they plan trips ahead and stay connected with tools like Starlink to keep creating and exploring. Their ultimate dream? A year exploring Africa and South Africa.

Looking Ahead

Cheeky Kids aims to become the largest canvas and 4WD accessory company in Australia and the U.S. within five years. Their advice to adventurers: “Buy quality once. Reliability is everything.” To small business owners: “Success takes determination and persistence. Keep going.”

As Fox and Miri evolve with their community, they’re committed to staying true to their values and inspiring others to embrace creativity, adventure, and a life less ordinary.
