The Story Behind Our Leather Keyrings — Meet Francios

Two years ago, by complete chance, our journey crossed paths with a man named Francios — a moment that would change both his life and ours in ways we never expected.

Originally from the northern region of the Congos, Francios spent most of his life surrounded by instability. He grew up constantly on the move, escaping gangs and armed militants, doing whatever he could to protect himself and the people he loved. Eventually, he fled to Cape Town, South Africa, where he now lives with his beautiful wife — also Congolese — and their five young children.

In the middle of all that hardship, Francios found something he never expected:
a passion for crafting with leather.

What started as a way to survive slowly became a calling. When he works, everything else goes quiet. Leatherwork gives him purpose, pride, and a future he can shape with his own hands. His dream is simple but powerful:
to build a small leather-working business he can one day pass on to his five children — a legacy they can carry long after he’s gone.
